![]() ![]() I've also jumped OUT (onto the high side) of the "million pillar arena" with the four items to collect. To give you a clue, I've jumped higher than the spawning harpies on the approach to the city level, during the big fight on the plain. And if you rocket jump at the same time you can jump over almost anything, although you'll probably die. You can also jump and get them to hit you and still take damage but fly _VERY_ far. In this case, you can jump straight onto a health powerup which gives you more health than you lost. If you do it right you'll fly way far away and have a great opportunity to pump huge numbers of grenades into the crowd. This is because only bulls have an attack that you can ALWAYS escape, and use to escape being gangbanged. You heard me right, they're easier than anything, even beheaded soldiers. Pauli's pretty much right about the cannon, but don't worry about the cannonballs for that (the chickens maybe, but not the bulls). ![]() There are uses for pretty much all the heavy weapons in the kleer fight. Use the grenade launcher whenever you can (you can shoot grenades at a certain angle up and they'll land on the back of kleers just far enough away that you don't get hurt, and it kills MASSIVE numbers of them). Run in a pattern of a figure 8, hitting all three powerups as you go. Yeah, like I said, try it on Serious!! - View image here: - View image here:. I just wish there was a way to have even MORE enemies though. Thankfully the amount of ammo never goes down with difficulty. i'm about halfway through the game on i think normal right now. Not that i can get that far on serious, mind you. Simply grouping them by backpeddling in circles just get's you killed as there's always a few behind you. I found that actually running at them works better as you kill them quicker, but the air can get thick with those ball'n'chains. View image here: - The problem is that they appear continuously all around you so they never group. Get as many chasing you in a big group as you can, and peg them with a cannon ball.īeen there, done that. (note, I said 'when' - I just want some sympathy from you guys - View image here: - ) Or do I just need a good slap?įuckin' A, dude! That's the spirit, but. So, who's wiped the floor with these dudes and gone on to fly away with the flying saucer on this level? Am I a shameless little wimp crying coz he can't do it or do I deserve major props and mad respect for getting this far? Were Croteam going too far? And am I completely mad for wanting to do this all over again on the even harder secret difficulty setting when I've done this. My tactical skills have improved enormously, my sharpshooting, dodging and laying down of gratuitous smack skills are all honed to razor-sharp lethality, but. In a wide open space with dozens of kleers coming at you from every direction it's proving, finally, impossible to deal with them. They have those lethal ball-and-chain bolas type things that clobber you for 20 points a time AND they can outrun you and rip you to shreds. Yet the brainless kleers have it both ways. Equally with the monsters - there are those who attack from a range and those who only rip your head off when they get to you. One of the great things I like in this game is the balance of long ranged weapons and short-ranged weapons. You see, for every scene on every level there's an ideal or optimal way to use the terrain and the weaponry and ammunition available to you to kill all the bad guys and carry on without taking a pounding. I'd conservatively estimate I've tried over a thousand times yet I got as far as killing the werebulls just once!! I don't want to sound too much like a lame FPS n00b - I'm not - but I'm beginning to lose faith in myself. ![]() I've been murdering Kleers now for several weeks but I'm getting nowhere. The one with the two green health vials and the health backpack in the middle. I'm currently stuck in the courtyard before the long walk over to the pyramid, on the last level. I've completed it on the middle-hard difficulty setting (I forget what it's called now - View image here: - ) and I'm almost done on Serious, as I've related in the past. It's an awesome game - simple, beautiful, fast, furious, colourful and imaginative. I've been a devotee of this game for a long time. ![]()
